Isp Network Engineer(1):

The ISP Network Engineer will be responsible for the designthe data network which facilitates the delivery of the company Internet and DSL products. implementation, and on going maintenance of the IP backbone in a fast paced service provider environment.Prepare design documentation for all ISP network requirements, in accordance with the business processes and procedures and relevant Industry Standards The IP backbone is a highly complex network and requires Cisco and Juniper expertise and routing design expertise including BGP and OSPF. The ISP Network Engineer will identify and evaluate new equipment solutions, configure and turn up new core routers, and maintain backbone and router port capacity in the core network. Network engineering should address system, storage, network, security, and facilities aspects of the data centerLead the design and integration of hardware and software solutions. Develop and implement work plans, migration plans, and conversion scripts needed to integrate proposed solutions Additional responsibilities include working internally with a team to support the network operations staff in highly technical trouble isolation and resolution. The ISP Engineer must be able to perform system maintenance and upgrades during established off-hour maintenance windows. Constant review of existing network practices for improvement and execution of necessary improvements is expected. This person must be capable of working independently as well as taking direction from the ISP Engineering Manager to accomplish short term as well as long-term goals. In depth data network design and engineering knowledge required for this position.

POSITION REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING:

- 3+ years IP backbone engineering in a complex service provider network.
- 3+ years of hands on experience designing and building large scale, highly available ISP networks.
- Ability to follow multiple simultaneous projects to completion with minimal supervision.
- Extensive experience with Cisco, and Juniper,
- Expert level knowledge of BGP and OSPF implementation and configuration.
- Routing policy expertise including the use of (BGP) route-maps, communities, route-reflectors, and controlled route injection and (OSPF) costs, LSA filtering, access-lists, best practices.
- Spanning Tree, Vlan design, broadcast storm control, loop avoidance.
- Knowledge of Frame Relay and ATM operation.
- Experience with VOIP gateways and soft switching.
- Prefer experience with multicast networks.
- Experience with windows, Firewall. Security, Software, UNIX and Solaris and bandwidth management software.
- The successful candidate will also possess both CCNA and CCNP Cisco network qualifications.
