IT Manager Job Description
The ideal candidate will have well-developed and demonstrated skills in facilitation, project management, organization, contract management, development and management of IT budgets.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the day-to-day operation and effective management of the IT staff members.
Establishes written policies and procedures for information technology acquisition and utilization.
Align the IT policies and procedures to those of IT international
Ensure that the IT staff in the company has adequate and appropriate skills.
Provide stable and effective IT solutions.
Remain informed of current IT technologies and standards and provide directions and advice based on knowledge and understanding of current technologies
Oversees the daily operational activities of technology systems.
Establishes standards for information technology.
Evaluates technology and makes recommendations to ensure compatibility and effectiveness.
Plans and evaluates the work of professional, technical and other support staff.
Maintain OS upgrades, patches, and security on existing systems.
Implements and manages Service Level Agreements (SLA), which involves facilitating discussions with customers regarding current and anticipated service requirements and alternative approaches.
Oversees the administration and maintenance of computer networks and software and training programs and the Learning Studio and provides additional support if necessary.
Oversees troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support when necessary.
Builds and maintains vendor relationships and manages the purchase of hardware and software products.
Search for the best sources of availability of various products and service required by the organization.
Maintain purchase registers for hardware and software procurements.
Maintain IT inventory and update inventory list.
Update network documentation as per changes in the network.
Routine check the efficiency of the network and propose necessary upgrade/change.
Maintain log book for server and network problems.
Ensure hardware are maintenance regularly and properly by service engineer.
Ensure service report (if any) is written by service engineer for every problem solved.

Qualification required:
- University Degree in IT/IS; (or equivalent qualification)
- At least 8 years experiences in working as Network Administrator / IT Officer and IT Manger
- Larger understanding of hardware and software and is able strategically look at investments
- Good interpersonal skill
- Good Language Skills in English and some of the local languages like Arabic.
- Knowledge of Windows 2003 Server, XP and Exchange 2003.
- Understanding of Network (data/voice/video), servers (Windows/UNIX/Linux), applications (SAP, R/3, EDI) IP-PBX (Cisco Call Manager), security, backup/restore, SAN Storage technologies, Firewall technologies, Load balancing technologies, Information Systems Security, Disaster recovery and Networking, client/server, n-tier and web architectures.
